8th EuroQol Academy Meeting

The main objective of this meeting is to provide open sessions to EuroQol members, that relate to the theme of this year’s meeting, which is:

‘EuroQol instruments in today’s world: exploring new frontiers’

Global interest in EQ-5D vastly exceeds what its original designers could possibly have imagined. The world has changed around us and the perspectives of regulatory agencies, healthcare systems, and populations today are different to those of nearly 40 years ago. Contemporary needs and novel applications invite us to focus on ensuring that EQ-5D remains “fit for purpose”. Our meeting allows us to revisit the past and to learn about how our portfolio of instruments is being applied – in different populations and disease groups, in different healthcare settings, in day-to-day patient management, in shaping health policy, and in monitoring the health of populations. We need to learn where EQ-5D works and where it does not. This knowledge will provide us with a platform to share our thinking about the way ahead and enable us to explore new frontiers.
