Applications are invited from researchers wishing to visit CHE in order to develop collaborative research, led by the applicant but working with CHE researchers.

This research could be a short term research project to prime for the development of further research ideas, the development of a joint grant proposal or establishment of a longer term collaboration.

The fellowship should be motivated by well defined activities and outputs, providing a clear motivation for the value of the in person visit(s) to CHE. Whilst we expect that substantial time is spent in CHE (2-6 months), personal circumstances will be considered to justify shorter visits and/or multiple visits if these do not compromise achieving the fellowship’s objectives.

Applications from experienced researchers are particularly welcome, but we will consider early career researchers who make an exceptionally strong application. This call is not open to PhD students.

The value of the fellowship is up to £10,000, exclusively for contributing towards accommodation and travel expenses associated with the visit and subject to an agreed budget. Subsistence can also be claimed by Research Fellows based in LMIC countries.  Fellowship activities should take place between September 2026 and July 2027.

The Fellowships were first launched in 2006 as a tribute to our late colleague, Professor Alan Williams, and to enable health economists from anywhere in the world to spend time at CHE working on collaborative research.
