Applications are invited for a Research Associate and Senior Lecturer within the ScHARR Outcomes team in ScHARR at the University of Sheffield in the UK.

Research Associate (fixed term until 28 February 2026)
The post holder will work on knowledge exchange, applied and methodological research projects relating to health utilities and well-being as part of the ScHARR Outcomes team. The role will involve varied tasks including reviewing, qualitative data collection and undertaking analyses of discrete choice experiments and contributing to their study design.

Senior Lecturer
The post holder will undertake Masters-level teaching, supervision and module leadership, and PhD supervision and will work on knowledge exchange, applied and methodological research projects relating to health utilities and well-being as part of the ScHARR Outcomes team.

ScHARR Outcomes is a multidisciplinary group of world-leading researchers in the area of measuring and valuing health, quality of life and wellbeing, particularly for use in health technology assessment. The group, led by Professor Donna Rowen specialise in the development of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) that measure the health and quality of life of people for particular conditions or populations. They also create valuations or analyses of existing measures to enable the generation of QALYs (quality adjusted life years) to inform health technology assessment. The group undertake research funded by a range of different funders which includes the Medical Research Council (MRC), National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), the EuroQol Group, and provide advice for Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). In addition, ScHARR Outcomes undertake a range of knowledge exchange projects for numerous consultancy firms, charities and pharmaceutical companies.
